Changing Direct Speech into Reported Speech

Answers Original Directions: Change these sentences of direct speech into reported speech using noun clauses. Pay attention to punctuation, pronouns, and verb tenses.

Situation: Robert and Carol are having a conversation in a coffee shop.

Robert asked Carol what she was going to do during the spring break.

Explanation of Correct Answer 1 1. Carol answered that she was thinking about visiting her parents in Los Angeles.

Explanation of Correct Answer 2 2. Robert asked her if she would fly.

Explanation of Correct Answer 3 3. Carol answered that she might drive because she might meet some friends in Santa Barbara at the end of the week.
