Professor Hurley is thrilled to be offering English 108 Writing Short Fiction in Spring 2009. In this course you will learn the fundamentals of writing short stories. Topics include: "finding" your story, differentiating between story and anecdote, creating compelling characters, developing a narrative arc, and most important, cultivating your own personal writing voice.
English 108 is a hybrid course. We will meet "live" five times during the semester at the Newark Center; the rest of the coursework will be done online. Please email me to enroll in this course!
