The following are the criteria that will be
used to determine your grade for your Work
Experience Education class. Please read this
document carefully. If you have any questions,
please schedule a time to speak with your Work
Experience Education instructor.
Orientation: 15 points
Attendance at a session of the Orientation
for the Work Experience program during the
first two weeks of the semester or within
2 weeks of enrolling in the Program, as
evidenced by sign-in sheet.
Application (Form 1): 10 points
submitted within 1 week of attending
an Orientation Session.
- On time = 6 points
- Complete = 2 points
- Neat = 2 points
Student Agreement (Form 2): 10 points
submitted within 1 week of attending
an Orientation Session.
- On time = 6 points
- Complete = 2 points
- Neat = 2 points
Performance Agreement (Form 4) . . . objectives: 15 points
submission of objectives within 3 weeks of attending
an Orientation Session.
- On time = 9 points
- Complete = 3 points
- Neat = 3 points
Performance Agreement (Form 4) . . . ratings: Max 85 points
submission of ratings on or before the last day of instruction:

On time = 10 points

Rating assessed by supervisor
Rating scale: 1 - 5
Grade points = 5 x rating (Max 25 points each)
Time Cards: 5 points each

Hours totalled = 1 point
(correctly)

Self-Evaluation Report: 35 points
submitted on or before the last day of instruction:

Typed and turned in on time = 10 points

Covers the outlined questions = 25 points
Resumé: 15 points
submitted on or before the last day of instruction:

On time = 5 points

Complete = 5 points
(contains current education and current employment)

Neat = 5 points
Program Evaluation: (Form 6) 10 points
submitted on or before the last day of instruction:
- On time = 5 points
- Complete = 5 points
Contacts with instructor: 25 points
Three contacts with your Work Experience
Instructor during the semester.
- Meeting with Supervisor = 15 points. MANDATORY MEETING. YOU CANNOT PASS THE CLASS WITHOUT SCHEDULING AND THEN ATTENDING THIS MEETING.
- Contact letter/email = 5 points
- Contact letter/email = 5 points
Grading:
The number of points that a student can earn will be
between 175 and 245, depending on the number of
Learning Objectives required and the number of Time
Cards submitted during the semester. At the end of
the semester, your instructor will use the WEX Grading Sheet (pdf)
to calculate your grade: the total number of points
that you have earned divided by the number possible
for your particular situation. Your grade will be
assigned according to the following scale:
REMEMBER: The meeting with your supervisor/manager, your instructor, and you, is a "mandatory" meeting. This meeting is required by the State of California in order for credit to be earned. You cannot pass the class without scheduling and then attending this meeting.
