Grading Policy

This is a credit/no credit class, worth .5 units. You will receive credit based on the following:

1. Class attendance/participation.

2. Satisfactory completion of all assignments and exercises.
 
 


Class Schedule

Class meets from 12-4:30 p.m. on two consecutive Saturdays.  Consult Class catalog for exact dates and registration procedures.

 
 

Learning Objectives

The student will:

  1. Gain a conceptual understanding of search tools including search engines, directories and specialized finding resources.
  2. Demonstrate an ability to use standard search syntax, including Boolean search logic.
  3. Employ critical thinking and evaluative skills in selecting Internet sources.
  4. Gain a basic awareness of copyright and intellectual property rights issues in the online environment.
