Polly bounced up and down with joy, as she began professing her love for Wally. "Wally, my love! I've been waiting for you. I want to set things straight so we can be together for the rest of eternity!" She knew she'd have little time to convince Wally that they were meant for each other, before he would go zooming off to some other part of the galaxy.

"Wally," she continued, "I know of an accelerator that will keep us together and you won't have to change a thing! I'm so excited to be with you once more, we will finally be together again just like we were before the Big Bang!"

"HEY POLLY, YER LIKE TOTALLY AWSOME!!" Wally came across like your typical surfer dude.   He was perpetually stoked.

"Hey Wally, where you coming from," asked Lupe.

"DUUUUDE. I JUST GOT OUT OF THIS WORMHOLE THAT STRETCHED LIKE 2000 LIGHT YEARS!!"

"Oh yeah? How was it?"

"TUBULARRRR!!"

Polly was getting furious with the lack of attention she was receiving. To this, she gave Wally one more plea to re-join him in cosmic matrimony.

"Wally, I'm soulless without you. I need your love to tell me who I am, to remind me of the way it once was and will be again once this Universe comes to an end. I can't wait for the 'Big Crunch'; it's just too far away. Please Wally, together we can traverse the galaxy and show everyone that our love is eternal. I'm begging you Wally don't leave without me. Please, I'll...."

With an abrupt pop, Polly disappeared without a trace.

"WHOA..."

"Awww, too bad," Lupe said sarcastically. "Anyways, Wally, can I ask you a question?"

"YOU JUST DID BRAH!!"

"Right. Wally, what's the meaning of it all? I'm mean, you've been all over the Universe and have probably seen and done it all. Why are we here? What role does a tiny string like me play in the grand scheme of the Universe?"

"THE UNIVERSE JUST IS, MAN! I'M A WAVE, SO I GO WITH THE FLOW. THAT'S WHAT I DO BECAUSE I'M A WAVE."

"Well, what happens if I decide to opt out of the causal chain? Will I turn into pure energy?"

"ENERGY? THAT REMINDS ME, I FORGOT TO TURN OFF THE LIGHTS IN MY APARTMENT. I GOTTA SAVE ENERGY, LAST MONTH MY BILL WAS OUTRAGEOUS!! CHECK YA LATER, DUUUDE!!"

And that was it. Wally exited time-zero and moved up into the future, all the while, humming that familiar tune that Lupe couldn't place. It was something he heard long ago, before the Big Bang. The he remembered that it was also the same song that played when The CY was vibrating at the same frequency. The song must be something old, something fundamental, like the song of the Universe.
